Scary Stuff Inc. has positions available
for the 2007 haunt season
If you are a creative, energetic person who loves scaring people,
we would like to have you join our team for this Halloween season.
We're looking for temporary, part-time workers to help us scare
the heck out of West Michigan thrill-seekers. Positions are available
for actors, make-up artists, and team leaders.
The Basics:
Scary Stuff Inc. will operate it's infamous Psycho Ward haunted attraction at the Kalamazoo Speedway
(near US-131 & D Ave.) for 10 nights from October 11-31, 2007.
Working at a haunted attraction is hard work, but a lot
of fun. Your job is to provide visitors with a scary, exciting
and safe experience. Despite the chaotic outward appearance
of a haunted attraction, every role is carefully choreographed
and controlled to ensure a great, consistent and safe show.
Your role will be developed to maximize value for the customer
while keeping both you and them SAFE. NOTE: Fire safety is
of particular importance at haunted attractions, so smoking
is not permitted anywhere in the attraction. We don’t
have anything against smoking, but each shift lasts for 4-5
hours and if you can’t go that long without a cigarette, working
in a haunted attraction probably isn’t for you.
Actor Requirements:
No acting experience is necessary, but the job requires a desire
to do your best and give visitors the best experience possible.
Acting in a haunted attraction can be both fun and rewarding.
Scaring visitors and seeing their reactions can be extremely
exhilarating. We look for actors who will SHOW UP ON TIME,
ARE AVAILABLE ALL NIGHTS WE ARE OPEN, HAVE RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION
TO AND FROM WORK, and most importantly, WILL HAVE FUN PERFORMING
A ROLE THAT WILL THRILL CUSTOMERS. If you have acting experience
or always wanted to be someone else and make money while running
around scaring the daylights out of people, this may be the
job for you.
Keep in mind this job isn't for everyone. It's not as easy as
it sounds, but if you're into scaring people in a fun environment,
you will LOVE IT!
Make Up Artist:
Some experience is required for this position. You must be able
to work quickly and most importantly be a creative person!
It doesn’t require a professional level of experience, but
fundamental knowledge of make-up application is necessary.
Typically, the job is a mix of applying make-up or guiding
others on applying their own. To apply for this position, you
can show us a portfolio of previous work or show a demonstration
of your make-up skills. Since actor make-up is applied before
show time, Make Up Artists can also play a role in the haunt
if you desire.
Team Leaders:
Team Leaders are responsible for the efficient operation of a
specific portion of the haunted attraction. You will be expected
to know the various roles of the actors in your area and ensure
that those roles are being performed properly. You will also
be trained in the proper safety procedures for the attraction
and participate in safety drills. Team Leaders must be available
to work each night the attraction is open and participate in
one advance training session during the week prior to opening
night.
